PIN,  a web-based solution, allows companies to have a greater control over production schedules as well as enables customers to interface their job status in real-time.

"We have secured about four clients and we now looking for partners for regional export of the solution by end of next year. We plan to export it to Singapore and Hong Kong as the two countries are regional hubs for the industry," said its CEO Hugh Seet.

He said the main selling point for his solution is its user-friendliness which allows fast adoption by users. In addition, there is no need for heavy investment in expensive servers or the IT department.

"Within three months, you can see 90% of the processes done online," Seet added.

The PIN system, which will be officially launched in January next year, is specifically designed and tailored for the industry and can be used by all employees in the organisation to work collaboratively in a virtual office.

"We not only want the bosses to benefit from the solution, but the employees as well. The PIN solution can minimise human error and helps to save time. The impact can only be realised if everyone in the organisation uses the system," Seet said.

Blueocean is also currently working on the enhanced version, PIN version II, which would target similiar industries such as advertising agencies and marketing companies.

"We are developing the prototype and we already have four to five advertising agencies waiting to test out the new prototype. We are not selling off-the-shelf products, so we need to really understand the industry," Seet said.

Presently there are two methods of implementing the PIN system, via on-demand which is monthly subscription basis or the yearly renewable licensing method.

The on-demand is quicker to deploy and comes with a  fixed monthly cost. The system is accessed over the Internet and hosted in a secure data centre facility.

The licensing option provides more control of the system, which is installed on-site but this requires the use of internal IT resources, hardware and software.
